Prognosis SFTP Server

After the upgrade of these two 2 servers to 11.1, we also noticed a new Prognosis service running; Prognosis SFTP Server / An SFTP server for receiving CDR data for Prognosis.
This new service is not on the Reporter and the Management Nodes though. What purpose does this new service provide?

Hi Mark,

The Prognosis SFTP service was introduced to Prognosis in 10.3, Effective with IR Prognosis 10.3, CopSSH is no longer installed, Prognosis now includes its own SFTP server. CopSSH was previously installed as an SFTP server in order to obtain CDR data from Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5+, Acme Packet Session Border Controller and Avaya Communication Manager CS1000. When installing a Prognosis 10.3 (or later) Monitoring Server component with a Prognosis for Unified Communications product license, the installer will detect if a copy of CopSSH exist. If it does CopSSH is removed and Prognosis SFTP Server is installed.

Re: Prognosis SFTP Server

The SFTP server is only installed when you choose the "Monitoring Node" option on the installer.

Many of our customers do not want this SFTP server installed so they simply choose the "Managing Node" at the time of installation for all nodes if they do not want it installed. Related... in 11.1 forward it "UC Reporter" is no longer a selectable option and it automatically installs it and there is no way of preventing that even if you do not want it or not a UC customer.
