Any extra precautions that should help achieve a successful fresh install of or upgrade to Prognosis 11.7 for NonStop?
We have identified an issue where the installer will fail if the NonStop system does not have IBM MQ installed.
The workaround is to create an empty file before running the UNPACK in the NonStop command line as follows.
1. Upload the files to Nonstop via FTP as per normal;
2. On The NonStop in the TACL command line session / Outside View interface create an empty file in the same subvolume:
FUP CREATE DSPMQVER
3. run the installer
for fresh install:
RUN UNPACK
for upgrade:
RUN UNPACK UPGRADE <subvolume>
Please see the Online Help for further important steps to take as part of installing or upgrading to Prognosis 11.7.

Hello Gerald,
Is this precaution valid for both, Itanium's and x86 systems?
I am asking because this warning is noted only for Itanium section/row – please take a look at Installer 11.7 section?
Best regards,
Igor
Hi Igor,
We're only aware of the problem occurring on Itanium. However if you would like to create that empty file onto the x86 as a precaution go ahead.

We had this issue intalling on our new X Series server. The above solution worked for installing 11.7.
We are now looking at installing 11.8 and are having the install macro fail with MQ version identification issues too. We have created the file as before but it hasn't solved our issue. We don;t have MQ installed.
