How to configure email alerts to be sent from thresholds
This is an eagle eye guide to setting up email alerts for thresholds. Whilst the individual steps are covered in the documention, it is most useful to know what steps are required and in what sequence.
Firstly, the email server must be set up in Dispatch Manager:
Online Help > System Guide > Functions > Dispatch Manager > Properties Dialog Box > Email Tab
Then, a person must be created who is associated with this email server:
Online Help > System Guide > Functions > Dispatch Manager > Properties Dialog Box > Persons Tab
The person who is created must be assigned to a GROUP. That group must be assigned to a time PROFILE:
Online Help > System Guide > Functions > Dispatch Manager > Configuration Information > Message Destinations
Checklist: Once the server has been configured, a PERSON has been set to use the server, a person has been added to a GROUP and a group has been added to a PROFILE, "Dispatch Manager" must be used as a MESSAGE DESTINATION within a THRESHOLD CONDITION. To do this:
1. Right click on your threshold
2. Choose properties
3. Go to the conditions tab
4. Right click a condition, choose properties
5. Go to the message destinations tab
6. Click NEW
7. Choose "dispatch manager"
8. Click "override default dispatch manager profile name"
9. Type the name of the profile for which your group with your user has been added

These instructions are not applicable for Prognosis v11.5.
Dispatch Manager has no Properties Dialog Box > Email Tab
There is now only sometning under Admin -> Configurations -> DISPMAN with a configuration text box.
