Re: How to add calculated user define field to a record?

In this example, we are creating a user defined field of JOBS record. The user defined field contains a calculated value of “JOBS.RSVMSG / 2”.

Step 1. Create a display of the record you want to add the user define field to (e.g JOBS)

Step 2. Right click on the display to select Properties

Step 3. In “Data View Definitions” window, click on “+” sign to add User Defiled Field

Step 4. In “User Defined Field” Window:

a. Select “Numeric”in the Field type,

b. Select a number in “Scale” field (in this example, it is 2)

c. Enter a description (e.g Linda built field)

d. Click on “…” to build Text calculation

e. In the “Build” window, click “Calculated”

f. In the “Calculated Field Definition” window, under the Calculated field Expression, select and set NonStopJob.RCVMSGS / 2

g. Then click Ok in “Calculated Field Definition” window; Click Ok in Build window; Click Ok in “User Defined Field” window.

h. Then back in “Data View Definitions” window, untick “Use Default Heading”

i. Customise your own Heading in “Heading” field (e.g RSVMSG / 2).

j. Then click Ok.
