File Error - $DATA17.PRGN.dsthist

Hello,

we have three NonStop X systems, running L20.10 and Prognosis 12.0 with patch 2.

And on all three systems the following error is occurring in wvlog:

2021-10-31 02:00:05  00004005   IRNETRTR 01,549   msgmgrp  10589  12.0.0

File Error -  $DATA17.PRGN.dsthist

I can't find any reference to DSTHIST file in help and/or in forums.

What could be a cause of this? How to solve it?

Kind regards,

Igor

Re: File Error - $DATA17.PRGN.dsthist

Hi @Igor_Silc,

The DSTHIST file keeps track of the timezone offset and DST offset (when the system transitions in and out of DST). From what I understand, the message is more informational and IRNETRTR has just been unable to update the file because it doesn't currently exist. I believe it'll log the same message if the file does exist, but IRNETRTR doesn't have permission to write to the file as well.

The file is normally created when Prognosis starts, so it might be worth performing a Prognosis restart and check to see if the file exists. I don't believe the error is indicative of a problem, but if you're experiencing any issues that you think may be related, or you notice the file isn't being created after a restart, please open a support case so we can investigate further.

Re: File Error - $DATA17.PRGN.dsthist

Thank you, Scott, for the answer!

Unfortunately, the restart does not help. This error starts with prognosis 12 and after the DST time has changed on 31. October. I will open a new case in support.

We have noticed the same problem when we updated to 11.9, so you're not alone.

Thank you Roy! Smiley Happy

I opened a support case, and yes, thay "have seen this issue in a pervious case and are currently working on it".

Since I am not seeing any disfunctional usage within prognosis, I am sure we can wait for a solution Smiley Wink

Re: File Error - $DATA17.PRGN.dsthist

That matches our experience.  We haven't yet noticed any significant issues, especially when we aren't dealing with data which spans a DST transition.
