IRNETRTR is logging errors similar to the following in wvlog. What do they mean, and how should they be prevented?
2005-09-09 10:12:20 00004000 IRNETRTR 00,021 MSGMGRP 14207 7.07.00
Internal program error - Duplicate connection found to \CAIOLS OnConnectRespRem
ote New(M0000048, CreatedByMulticastDisc), Orig(M0000013, CreatedByTCPIPAddr).
Note that this error may also be accompanied by the following error:
2005-08-22 11:31:30 00004000 IRNETRTR 00,112 msgmgrh 01693 7.07.00
Internal program error - Msg received out of order (Rcvd:143364, Expected:1433
2, Node:\CAIOLS Msgr:M0000025)
These errors indicate that two TCP connections are defined between the node with this error and the node that is mentioned in the error. These connections are defined in the NETWORK configurations of those nodes. The "CreatedByMulticastDisc" indicates that one of the connections is due to having Multicast Discovery enabled using the MULT-IF-ADDR parameter. The "CreatedByTCPIPAddr" indicates that a connection is created due to a TCPIP-ADDR parameter which is now the MANAGED-NODES/MANAGING-NODES parameters in recent versions of PROGNOSIS.
This effectively results in IRNETRTR trying to establish connections to the same node twice and giving an error msg about "duplicate connection" to these nodes.
Please refer to the Online Help for more details on using the MANAGED-NODES parameter.
To resolve the errors, it will be necessary to either disable multicast discovery or the managed nodes section of the NETWORK configuration. However, it should be noted that these errors are informational only, and should not result in any misbehaviour of the product. They can be safely ignored.
