Do the Patch level on Client GUI and nonstop server have to match.

Working towards testing NonStop Infrastructure product to work MQv8.

Fixes for MQv8 are available after 11.4.5.

I currently have V11.4.0 on both client and server.

If I install patch-7  on the Nonstop side, Will I need to install patch-7 on the client in order for the client to function properly.??

@Ken_NAVARRETTE,

best to patch the client side as well. Although client would be able to work fine, but in case there were some record defnition updates, it would not have the latest definitions and may have unexpected behaviour.

Re: Do the Patch level on Client GUI and nonstop server have to match.

In my 10+ years of using and administering Prognosis (on HPE NonStop), I've only seen one time where the GUI and server didn't need to be the same versioin. Therefore, I would definitely assume that they need to be the same version.

Just couple of days ago... I've installed Prognosis 11.5. on NonStop and I couldn't connect to it with GUI v11.4. After GUI upgrade to 11.5, the connection was established successfully.

Re: Do the Patch level on Client GUI and nonstop server have to match.

Hello,

The client GUI needs to be at least the same dot version (or higher) than the Prognosis version on the nonstop. If the nonstop is the same dot version but using a newer patch than the client GUI, the client GUI will be able to connect to the nonstop, but any Displays that were updated by the later patch may produce unexpected results.

The client GUI should have the same patch (or a later patch) than the nonstop it is connecting to.
