Can Prognosis analyze usage of partitions of a file?

Hello,

Is there a way in Prognosis to analyze how partitions are used? Not how full they are but how often each partition is used.

If a file has 4 partitions and there are 1000 calls to that file. How many of the calls goes to each partition?

Thanks,

Henry

Re: Can Prognosis analyze usage of partitions of a file?

Hello Henry,

I've checked our documentation and record guide for this functionality and haven't found any match for your example scenario.

We do offer some current usage statistics on partitions (for example, our "UnixPhysicalVolume" record).

If you are using Tandem/NSK we also have file monitoring functionality in the "NonStopFileDetail" record, which can for example show flags on whether a file is the last partition or a partitioned file, is the main partition of a partitioned file, or the secondary partition of a partitioned file, alongside a range of other statistics on that file. You can read about it by examining the "NonStopFileDetail" record either directly or through the documentation.

Ta,
