Aggressive Support Schedule

This new agressive support schedule is bad. I never upgrade until there are 6 or so patches. By then the next release is out.

Re: Aggressive Support Schedule

In my observation while there is some general tightening up the release support schedule, not a lot has really changed in our overall guidance of planning to upgrade Prognosis every 18-24 months so you stay within a couple of point releases and in the "Full Support" model.

For the last several years at least we have been releasing twice a year with patches until about the time the next release comes out and maybe on there after on the -1 point release.. otherwise I don't see it as changing that much with 11.6 there will be 4 releases in Full Support and even in 11.7 three point releases (which being 11.5 had a long life cycle still equates to that 18-24 months)

We recognize some prefer to be on a -1 point release and the current release schedule still supports that; but the intent is to encourage customers to stay on a current release as we have some customers still on version 9 (11.6 is current).

As well with each release, we also announce what the release schedule will be wiuth the next release as well so there is plenty of time to plan.

For example from the 11.6 release notes:

========

Note that as at 30 June, 2019, support levels are as follows:

Support Level

Prognosis Version

Full Support

11.6, 11.5, 11.4, 11.3

Essential Support

11.2, 11.1

Sustaining Support

11.0, 10.5

EOL

10.4 and prior

By the time of the 11.7 release, planned for December, the support level will be:

Support Level

Prognosis Version

Full Support

11.7, 11.6, 11.5

Essential Support

11.4, 11.3, 11.2

Sustaining Support

11.1, 11.0

EOL

10.x and prior
