This new agressive support schedule is bad. I never upgrade until there are 6 or so patches. By then the next release is out.
In my observation while there is some general tightening up the release support schedule, not a lot has really changed in our overall guidance of planning to upgrade Prognosis every 18-24 months so you stay within a couple of point releases and in the "Full Support" model.
For the last several years at least we have been releasing twice a year with patches until about the time the next release comes out and maybe on there after on the -1 point release.. otherwise I don't see it as changing that much with 11.6 there will be 4 releases in Full Support and even in 11.7 three point releases (which being 11.5 had a long life cycle still equates to that 18-24 months)
We recognize some prefer to be on a -1 point release and the current release schedule still supports that; but the intent is to encourage customers to stay on a current release as we have some customers still on version 9 (11.6 is current).
As well with each release, we also announce what the release schedule will be wiuth the next release as well so there is plenty of time to plan.
