Hello Team,
What are the problems with enabling the IIS SMTP engine on the prognosis server as a relay for RTMT emails to other monitorng software.
Regards,
Phani
Hello Phani,
I am not aware of any effects enabling the SMTP server in IIS on your Prognosis server. The Prognosis installation enables all the IIS features it needs when installing. Any configuration changes to IIS may have an adverse effect on the functionality of the Prognosis web site. I woul dhave to test here to find out for sure. Maybe someone else reading this might know more about it,
Thanks
Scot Thanks for the information.
I would like to know whether we can run the Microsoft IIS smtp relay on the prognosis server.

Anjireddy
You should be able to, it shouldn't cause any issue with Prognosis.
As long as you configured your SMTP relay approprietly (according to your environment specifications).
Ultimately, from a Prognosis perspective it's just a matter of corectly setting up the DISPMAN config and rules destinations. The SMTP relay could be located anywhere as long as your Prognosis server(s) are able to establish connections to it.
Hi Scot,
Do you has chance to test it out .
please let us know if you have faced any issues after enabling IIS SMTP reply in the prognosis server.
