Trunk Down Issue

Hi Team,

I can see that in prognosis one trunk is showing for one call manager,

 

but when I login to the call manager it is showing as registered, it was creating a lot of noise for us.

 

can anyone let me know what is the issue?

Hi @kashyap,

 

The "SIP Destination Information" shows degraded because the "SIP Trunk Remote Peer Destination" of 1 server is not available.

  • The CUCM will show the SIP trunk will UP because 3 other Destinations are Up.
  • Prognosis goes farther than verifying the trunk is Up. Prognosis checks each destination of a SIP trunk as well.

There are various causes of a SIP trunk destination not being available. The most common causes are a network issue or a configuration issue.

 

Recommendations:

  • Verify the configuration of both sides of the SIP trunk.
    - If only 1 side is configured for 3 endpoints and the other side is configured for 4, this would be the cause of what is seen in Prognosis.
  • Check and verify network connectivity between the 2 endpoints of the SIP trunk.
  • If the data in Prognosis seems incorrect, please open a case for more focused troubleshooting.
