Re: Support required : getting multiple login from Prognosis on PBXs

Hello Hitesh,

If the multiple logins issue is for Avaya Communication Manager (ACM):

  1. Prognosis is designed to use 3 logins per ACM.
    Multiple logins to the ACM is recommended because of the  of data gathered by Prognosis.
    • The number of logins can be adjusted by changing the following setting in the irAVAYA_PBX.ini file:
      From:
      [SAT]
      Connections=3
      To:
      [SAT]
      Connections=2
      Or:
      [SAT]
      Connections=1
      Finally: save the irAVAYA_PBX.ini file and restart the AVAYA_PBX collector (use Task Manager to end the irAVAYA_PBX.exe process, or stop and start the Prognosis service).amount
  2. If the ACM shows more Prognosis connections than set in the irAVAYA_PBX.ini file, the logins might be "hung" due to a known ACM bug. Use the following to correct:
    a. Access the ACM using a SAT connection via ASA or PuTTY.
    b. Use command 'status login' to see the active logins.
    c. Use command 'reset login x' (x being the session number of the login) to clear all the Prognosis logins.
    d. Prognosis will reconnect the number of times set in the irAVAYA_PBX.ini file, but the "hung" logins will remain clear.

Thank you,

Scott Baldwin

Re: Support required : getting multiple login from Prognosis on PBXs

Hello Hitesh,

The request from the last reply needs additional clarification:

  • The first response post provided information about updating the irAVAYA_PBX.ini file, but alert(s) were not mentioned.
  • What alert is being referenced by the most resent post?
  • What is the goal of altering the alert configuration?
  • What is meant by "internal Outlook"?

Thank you,

Scott Baldwin
