SQL 2019 and Advanced Reporting - Extra Setup Step

SQL 2019 and Advanced Reporting - Extra Setup Step

Getting the error "This method explicitly uses the CAS policy, which has been obsoleted by the .Net Framework. In order to enable the CAS policy for compatibility reason, please use the NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy configuration switch"

Although SQL 2019 is not yet officailly supported, unofficailly we have installed and set up Prognosis AR using SQL 2019.

During the setup and running the setupreports.bat there was an issue validating the connection to the SSRSweb service with the message in the screen shot (attached to this post)

During the Advanced Reporting setup, the rs.exe utility is copied from the SQL server (:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services\Shared Tools) to the Prognosis server and placed in the same location as the setupreports.bat. (\Prognosis\Server\Configuration\BigDataInsight\UC) This allows the script to automatically locate the utility

Solution;

Also copy the file called rs.exe.config from the same location as the rs.exe tool (:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services\Shared Tools) and paste into the same location on in the Prognosis files as the rs.exe.tool (\Prognosis\Server\Configuration\BigDataInsight\UC). re-run the setupreports.bat script.

Re: SQL 2019 and Advanced Reporting - Extra Setup Step

The above instructions to get around the error would happen with a fresh install or a an upgrade if using SQL 2019. Here are a couple related online help pages

For installation of SQL reporting solution;

For upgrader's who have SQL 2019
