When a service running on a platform is critical for the business, we can build a threshod to monitor its status, in case the service goes down for any reason, the threshold can detect it, send alert and then start it automatically by running a command on the platform.
For example, the attached threshold monitors the Prognosis SFTP service, if it goes down, the threshold will run the Windows command Net Start to activate it again.
The Prognosis record is NtService, the where caluse is as below:
DISPNAME = "Prognosis SFTP Server" AND SERVSTAT = "STOP"
when this condition is met, it will send alert to Probsum record, and at the same time, execute the following command to start the service again:
NET START "Prognosis SFTP Server"
Note:
1. The Command Destination needs to use the built-in PROGNOSIS password key to execute the Net Start command.
2. The DIsplay Name must be exactly the name of the service shown in the Services Central display (the Display Name field).
