How to export the onboarded devices to excel

Hi ,

We are using prognosis to monitor various devices ( cisco , skype for busniess , SBC etc.) . While we can see the onboarded devices in the respective group in GUI, is there a way we can export all onboarded devices  ( device name , IP , Model and other details possible )  to an excel file ?

Thank you for the support

Re: How to export the onboarded devices to excel

Hello Jay,

Thank you for reaching out. There is a way you can export device data and details from the Prognosis Client (GUI). See below Screenshot.

-Once you have a display with the data from the device, you can export to an Excel file by pressing on the icon in the top left corner to export to excel file.

This should output the the data to an excel spreadsheet. Let me know if this answers your question.

Re: How to export the onboarded devices to excel

Hello Jay_Joshi,

The response from Dale is correct. Below is some additional information:

To export Prognosis data to Excel, the Prognosis Windows Client or Prognosis Web UI must be run from a machine with Excel installed.

Unfortunately, no 1 Display/Dashboard in Prognosis shows all the data requested. Below is some information about how to show most of the data requested.

If using the Windows Client:

  1. Click on the "Home" icon to open the UCC - Welcome Display, or open the UCC - Welcome Display from the Knowledge folder.
    - The UCC - Welcome Display will show all the PBX devices, but not the SBCs.
  2. Click on the "Send Display to Excel" (blue X) icon along the top of the Windows Client to export the data showing in the Display to Excel.
  3. In the UCC - Welcome Display, drilldown on the >> symbol to the right of SBC to open the SBC - Welcome Display, which shows all monitored SBCs.
  4. Click on the "Send Display to Excel" (blue X) icon along the top of the Windows Client to export the data showing in the Display to Excel.

The above process will show the PBXs and SBCs, but not the IP addresses or devices like phones or soft clients.

If using the Web UI:

  1. Use this URL in the address bar of the browser, replacing <server> with the IP address or name of the Prognosis Web UI server:
    https://<server>/Prognosis/Dashboard/UCC%20-%20Welcome?DefaultNode=Current&vendor=all&partid=all
  2. The above URL will open the UCC - Welcome Dashboard.
    - The UCC - Welcome Dashboard will show all the PBX devices, but not the SBCs.
  3. Click on the "Excel Export" link near the top of the Web UI to export the data showing in the Dashboard to Excel.
  4. In the UCC - Welcome Dashboard, drilldown on the >> symbol to the right of SBC to open the SBC - Welcome Dashboard, which shows all monitored SBCs.
  5. Click on the "Excel Export" link near the top of the Web UI to export the data showing in the Dashboard to Excel.

The above process will show the PBXs and SBCs, but not the IP addresses or devices like phones or soft clients.

Additional alternatives:
Option 1: Create a Mashup in the Web UI to present all the desired information.

  1. See the following Prognosis Online Help link for Mashup basics: Creating a Mashup
  2. Use the Web UI to open Dashboards showing some of the desired information.
  3. Add the individual window(s) to the Mashup.
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for all data points desired.
  5. Open the Mashup to view all the data (see Prognosis Online Help Mashups).
  6. Click on the "Excel Export" link near the top of the Web UI to export the data showing in the Mashup to Excel.

Option 2: Have a Display/Dashboard created to show all the requested data.

  1. Contact the Account Manager about presenting the desired data.
  2. Work with Professional Services to have a custom Display/Dashboard created including all data requested.

Thank you,

Scott Baldwin
