Re: Compatibility Prognosis 11.4 with HpNonStop x86 SO L19.03

@Williams_Aspee
I will also also add that "generally" any point releases of a Guardian OS has never been found to have an issue that I am aware of.. especially when it small differences like L19.03 to L19.09. The currency published in our release notes are largely what we "certified the release" on or 'verified' as Scott mention.. not a statement of needing to be on that release to be supported.

As Scott also noted that usually Prognosis starts and functions, but with OS versions and CPU types you may get some odd errors in EMS about unknown CPU or OS version do to a lookup it tries.. but it should not be stopping startup. In 11.8 I believe I heard it mentioned that it won't spew out the error messages if the CPU type is within your license and not purely based on the current version as HP is releasing CPUs and OS types.

Re: Compatibility Prognosis 11.4 with HpNonStop x86 SO L19.03

Hello Williams_Aspee,

Here is some additional version specific information:

  • Prognosis 11.4 has NOT been verified to work with HpNonStop x86 SO L19.03
  • Prognosis 11.5 was verified on L18.02
  • Prognosis 11.7 was verified on L19.03

Prognosis 11.4 was designed before HpNonStop x86 SO L19.03 was released. The Account Manager might be able to provide a License allowing Prognosis 11.4 to start on this version of HpNonStop with some caveats:

  • Invalid License errors during start up are likely, but Prognosis 11.4 shoud start.
  • It is unknown if other issues will be seen when using Prognosis 11.4 for this HpNonStop version.

The recommendaiton is: Prognosis 11.7 should be used to monitor HpNonStop x86 SO L19.03.

Thank you,

Scott Baldwin
