After deployment, it is possible to change the user associated with a deployment, or their password, if the need arises, for example, if you would like to use a service id. In order to do so, after deployment, go to the PASSWORDS Configuration and simply change the password entry for DB:<product> and Command:<product>. The screen shot below shows what these entries would look like for a deployment name of UC2.
After the PASSWORDS Configuration has been changed and “Started”, it will then be necessary to verify that the new User or Password is working. To do this, open the Windows Client and stop one of the running BigDataInsight database collections (the 12 hr dbc is recommended).
If the User/Password is correct, then the database will restart and continue running.
If the database collection fails to restart, then refer to the Error Log (WVLOG) file and check for ODBC errors. If only the Password was changed, and there are authentication errors in the wvlog file, then re-check that the password was entered correctly. If the User was changed and there are now authentication errors, then verify that the password was entered correctly, verify that the User has access to log into the SQL Server and then also verify that the User has an SQL login for the MSSQLSERVER application.
