"Degraded" status meaning for Avaya System and Session Managers

Hi,

I'm working on improving our monitoring profiles and the alarms description we generate to helpd our level one support team better understand the alarms they get.

I'm facing an issue with Avaya System and Session Managers statuses. It can be up, down or degraded.

Now, Up and Down are pretty obvious, but I'm puzzled by the Degraded status.

What dos the "degraded" status mean for Avaya System and Session Managers?

How can it be translated into layman's terms?

How does Prognosis determines that the device status is degraded?

Hi Good question. Degraded usually means some of it's entities are up and some are down. A degraded system manager should have some session managers up and some down. Does that clarify ?
