Re: User guides

Hi Nicholas,
The Prognosis online help has several topics on the GUI and its related layout/functions. Have you taken a look there? Do you have any specific questions around the document navigator itself or are you just looking for an overall detail about the desktop client?
In short, the document navigator is a repository for all documents pertaining to Displays, databases, thresholds, etc. these are stored locally on any system the GUI is installed on.

Let me know what other questions you may have and I am glad to assist!

Thanks,
Randy

Re: User guides

Hi Nicholas,

you should just go to the online documentation and then you find it under:
Home > User Interfaces > Windows Client > Document Navigator > Document Navigator

Let us know if that is what you're looking for.

Re: User guides

I am looking for some type of description that would explain what the Knowledge and other tabs are used for. Is there a place with all this break down of the tabs?

Hi Nicholas,

Great to see you on the forum.

Unfortunately there is nothing documented for each of the thresholds, displays, ect. for out of the box Prognosis. All i found to offer you was the link to Prognosis Online Help to the Prognosis Windows GUI. You would need to open up the display, threshold, ect. to see the configuration to determine exactly what it does.

Is there anything specific that you have questions about?

Re: Documentation User guides on Displays/Thresholds Knowledge Folder Items

As previously noted there is not always documentation on exactly what each threshold is used for but the way to dump out the exact content of a threshold (Or any document in the Knowledge Folder)  and its subsequent as well as any notes within the threshold container is to utilize the help function for any out of the box or user generated one.  This is a great document to provide with change control processes, backup, as well as for reference when building a new threshold as well.

A good tip is for user generated threshold condition ones is to create disabled condition(s) that the condition name is a version identifier of the container.

Another is to utilize the text / remediation text (11.4+) in any condition to can contain actually documentation like (v2018-05-01 even).. it will appear in the body of an alert but is good for those both receiving the notification but also for tracking changes... both of these tips require some consistency in practices within an organization though as like versioning for example is not inherient to a threshold / display container.
