Hi,
I am looking to upgrade our existing software version of Prognosis - are there any guides I can use to follow? Are there any tips to consider before we proceed? We have a single node system so just wanted to make sure I have a list of what activities pre -reqs I need to complete to esnure a smooth transition.
Thanks again for your support
Jon

Hello Jonathan_Mc,
Please see this post for information about upgrading Prognosis: https://community.ir.com/t5/General/upgrade-precaution-for-upgrading-to-Prognosis-11-8-from/m-p/1004...
There are some items in the post about stopping some services, and a link to the Prognosis Online Help page containing some Postgres specific items.
This Prognosis Online Help link has a full upgrade check list for upgrading Prognosis running on Microsoft Windows: https://help.prognosis.com/prognosis/118/deployment-and-installation/installation/upgrade-installati...
I would recommend reviewing all the data in both links (and sub-links) before beginning the upgrade.
Thank you,
Scott Baldwin

Once again , thank you Scott !
When upgrading, you must stop (amoung potentially other services) Prognosis Service.
It is not uncommon to have Prognosis fail stop stop correctly, requiring you to manually kill Prognosis tasks in Task Manager. I use to kill all remaining/active tasks in task manager as a result.
I have found that if you have stopped all reccomended services (as identified in the link Scott provided for upgrade best practices) and Prognosis fails to stop, if you kill "Prognosis irpromgs" only from task manager, that alone should be sufficient to stop the service running, and you don't need to kill every other IR process under the sun that may be running.
Hope this helps.
