Hello Team,
We are currently experiencing difficulties in starting the Prognosis service. The issue arose after the customer performed some server patching activities.
we have identified that the file "irpromgs.exe" is missing from the directory "E:\Prognosis\Server\x64", which is causing the error message "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified".
Can someone please assist us on this issue.
Best regards,
Kashyap.

Hi @kashyap,
It's highly unusual for server patching to have removed an executable from an unrelated application. If they were installing Prognosis patches at the time, then it's possible that process either failed or was interrupted before completing successfully. In that case, they would normally receive a warning on the screen and the information would also be capture in the related patch log.
The first obvious step would be to try and restore that executable either from a backup or, if they have the exact same version/patch level on another system, copy the executable over from there and see if Prognosis is then able to start up. The other concern I would have is whether other files are also missing, but we'll need to try and identify why/how the irpromgs.exe has been removed.
If the customer doesn't have the time to investigate, a quicker option might be to perform a backup and then uninstall/re-install Prognosis before restoring the backup, which should hopefully restore that system back to the correct state.
In order for us to investigate further, I'd recommend submitting a support case that includes a current irfax from that system. If you can also try to capture as much detail that describes the tasks the customer performed on that system prior to the problem presenting itself, that will hopefully help narrow down what might have happened to remove the executable from that system.
Regards,
Scott
