Prognosis for Cloud UC settings and configuration

First-time setup

Prognosis for Cloud UC detects when an Office 365 (O365) administrator credential has not been provided yet, and directs users to the Settings page. For example, the first time an administrator logs in to Prognosis for Cloud UC, they will be directed towards the Settings page.

If you are an administrator and directed here, you are required to:

  1. Provide your Skype for Business Online tenant administrator username and password. It is recommended that a O365 Skype for Business tenant administrator account is created for Prognosis to use.
  2. Click the Update Settings button.

Prognosis for UC Cloud conducts a test by making a connection to Microsoft Office 365 data center to ensure the correct credentials have been provided.

Upon a successful test, users will be directed automatically to the Conversation List page to start troubleshooting. Otherwise, a user can also navigate to the Conversation List page by clicking the Skype for Business Online Troubleshooting link on the top of the page.

In order to configure IR Prognosis on-premises integration for access to Path Insight, please see Configuring IR Prognosis on-premises integration.

Updating Skype for Business Online tenant administrator credentials

You may also need to update the O365 credentials stored by IR Prognosis for UC Cloud when the password has been changed or if the credentials are no longer valid (e.g. a disabled or removed administrator account).

NOTE: This change can only be made by UC Cloud Administrator users (i.e. those users with an Administrator role) - the Settings page is not accessible to Operator users.

  1. There are two ways to access the Settings page

In the IR Prognosis for UC Cloud application
, click on your name in the top-right corner to bring up the application menu, and then select Settings under Skype for Business Online

In the UC Cloud Administration application, click on the small down arrow button next to the Skype for Business Online application

  2. Enter the O365 Administration credentials which are used by your organization to administer Skype for Business Online. The administrator username will most likely end in onmicrosoft.com i.e.:

    username@companyO365account.onmicrosoft.com

    e.g. Christopher.armstrong@acme.onmicrosoft.com

NOTE: that these are not the same credentials that you used to log in to IR Prognosis Skype for Business Online Troubleshooting, nor would they necessarily be the same as the SIP URI you were searching for in IR Prognosis for UC Cloud.

  3. Click on Update settings and continue to save the credentials.

Skype for Business Online Troubleshooting will verify that the credentials are correct before saving them, and then forward you to the Conversations Search page.

Restrictions

The Settings page notes any restrictions related to the Office 365 credentials. These are detailed below

Same Domain Restriction (Trial Accounts)

NOTE: This section only applies to trial accounts, not paid subscriptions

If you are using a trial account, you will still be redirected to the Settings page, but you will have the following screen instead:

Trial accounts are restricted to using only one Office 365 tenant for the lifetime of the subscription. This restriction is enforced after you have set the credentials successfully for the first time. After that, you can only update the password or set the credentials to other administrators in the same tenant.

If you are in a free trial period but need to change to another Office 365 tenant, please contact your sales representative.

Configuring IR Prognosis on-premises integration

If you have a IR Prognosis on-premises installation, you can also configure the your IR Prognosis URL in order to enable Path Insight integration. This  functionality lets you drill down to your corporate network nodes for additional network troubleshooting of conversations from the network node diagram on the Call Details page.

You can configure the IR Prognosis integration from the UC Cloud Administration app. Please see the UC Cloud Administration Prognosis settings page for more details.
