Modify Site CMS Configuration

Hi,
We recently moved our Skype for Business infrastructure over to a new SQL server and therefore our CMS Server information has changed. Is there a way to configure this string without actually having to recreate the site?

Re: Modify Site CMS Configuration

Have the rest of the Skype site details changed as well? If not then there should be no change to Prognosis provided all displays and DB functions still operate properly.
Prognosis only interacts with CMS during the configuration phase to capture the topology of your SFB environment. If Prognosis is no longer able to view Skype then the easiest method may be to generate a new TBXML file and compare the details with the Prognosis Lync static configuration. There if any pool mapping, IP addresses, or other information has changed, it can be updated.

If it is only SQL information that has changed, we can modify the configuration to reflect this as well.

Re: Modify Site CMS Configuration

Hi Randy,
Can you provide more detail on where these changes need to be made after the CMS has been migrated to a new SQL backend database? The SQL Monitoring Credentials have been updated already with the new SQL Server IP Address, but there doesn't appear to be any way to edit the existing CMS Server field in the Prognosis web client. All Skype for Business server roles are the same as they were. The only change was the migration of the backend databases from one SQL cluster to another. Thanks in advance.

Re: Modify Site CMS Configuration

Hi Drew,

If it is only minor changes, then editing the LYNC Configuration within Prognosis is the best option.
If there are major changes, removing and re-adding the Lync Site using Auto-Discovery mechanism (Pointing the wizard to the new CMS server) might be a better solution.

If you are unsure which path to take, you can generate the TBXML from the Topology Builder and log a quick case with that and an irfax from the monitoring node and support can review it and give you advice. We are happy to assist but in this case, it might be best doing it via a support case so you can provide supporting diagnostics to help us give you the best advice.

Drew, Brandon,

let me know if Adam's details did not address your needs here and I am glad to assist as well.

Thanks!
