Live Canvas Alert icon set question

I'm trying to create a live canvas, something similar to a network diagram with node statuses(Up/Down). The following is an example of what it should look like:

I'm having a real hard time figuring out what the input would be in the shape data fields for the alert icon set. I didn't know if alert icon sets maybe used this way? It doesn't have to be using an alert icon set, but I just need some kind of visual representation of the status of node. 

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you!
