How is the status of VG gateways determined? For VG224 or VG248 running SCCP

For VG224 or VG248 running SCCP, we do the following:

1. Initial SNMP walk of the CallManager to get the device name, last IP address and registration status (Regstat) of voice gateway
2. If Regstat showing as unregistered - we do nothing further and mark as down
3. If VG is contactable and registered, then we walk the ifTable with the IP address from step 1 to get the detail of endpoints (interface type) associated with the VG.
This is needed to identify the different state of interfaces that will affect the overall gw state (disabled, unknown degraded etc).

The determination of interface state is the same as we do for H.323 – ie. ifOperStatus and ifAdminStatus

Status logic for VG gateway running SCCP:

Input / Contactable: Init (startup)
Input / Interface: Up
Output / Gateway Status: Up

Input / Contactable: Down (VG Gateway is not registered)
Input / Interface: Down
Output / Gateway Status: Down

Input / Contactable: Contactable (VG Gateway is registered)
Input / Interface: Disabled
Output / Gateway Status: Degraded

Input / Contactable: Contactable (VG Gateway is registered)
Input / Interface: Unknown
Output / Gateway Status: Disabled

Input / Contactable: Contactable (VG Gateway is registered)
Input / Interface: Degraded (don't have this one for FXS)
Output / Gateway Status: Init

Input / Contactable:
Input / Interface:
Output / Gateway Status: Not Contactable

Input / Contactable:
Input / Interface:
Output / Gateway Status: Unknown
