How do I prevent repeat emails on a threshold?

I have dispman configured to send emails properly.  I currently have the cmaDeviceAlerts threshold triggering the same  "route list is degraded" email every 5 minutes (the period in which the threshold is configured to check).

I want just ONE email to be sent when the condition is (first) met and then never again until the threshold is restarted, or the threshold clears and re-triggers. 

I don't want to "ignore" the message, it's just that it might take more than 5 minutes to clear the issue.

Each Threshold Condition has a checkbox named Off Event. The Off Event checkbox is found on the Message Defaults tab and on each destination subtab of the Message Destinations tab.

The Off Event, when checked, should cause the Threshold to send 1 alert when the Where Clause is met, wait for the condition in the Where Clause to no longer be met, then send an alert with the off Event Text. The next time the Where Clause Condition is met, the Condition will alert again.

Checking the Off Event checkbox should prevent the alert from being sent every 5 minutes.

The destination subtab of the Message Destinations tab has a checkbox named Override Default Off Event. The Override Default Off Event checkbox, if checked, will override the Off Event checkbox found on the Message Defaults tab. This allows each destination subtab to have unique Off Event actions.

• Using only the Off Event checkbox found on the Message Defaults tab is recommended for simplicity.
• The Override Default Off Event checkbox in the subtab must be checked to change the Off Event checkbox options selected in the Message Defaults tab.

Examples of the Message Defaults tab and Dispatch Manager subtab of the Message Destinations tab are shown below. Both examples DO NOT have Off Event checkbox checked. This is the default configuration of the example Threshold Condition below.

Thanks for the detailed descriptions of the checkbox functions.  That seems to have done the trick!
