How can I create alerting on performance metrics in a Cisco cluster environment

How can I create alerting on performance metrics in a Cisco cluster environment? There is a performance metric that I need to alert on that is not already covered by the out of box alerts.

Re: How can I create alerting on performance metrics in a Cisco cluster environment

Here's a short video on the recommended first step for creating alerting on a performance metric, in this example, the performance metric is the CPU Busy % utilisation on Cisco CUCM Cluster servers. The recommended first step is to create a display first to determine the node group (and the record name and where clause) to use in a threshold.

Here's a short video of a recommended 2nd step in creating alerting, which is to use a "Visual Alarm" in the display to detemine the where clause for a threshold.

Here is  ashort video on creating the threshold from the parameters determined from the display. Then checking in the Alerts display to make sure that it is triggering.

Here's a short video about adding email alerting into the threshold and then checking that it is working through the Dispatch Overview display.

Re: How can I create alerting on performance metrics in a Cisco cluster environment

Here's a short video on how to set up a dispatch profile/group destination in the DISPMAN config for the destination we set in the threshold, when we get a "Unknown Profile error" due to entering an undefined destination, "CISCO-OPS" set in the previous video.
