Does Prognosis support snmp settings with SHA-192 and above in Prognosis 11.9 Patch 4?
- Device connections like Oracle SBC etc
Solved! Go to Solution.
Answer: Connections via SHA192 and above require NET-SNMP version 5.8 and Prognosis 11.9 Patch 4 currently only has NET-SNMP 5.7.3. Therefore you will not be able to configure those particular SHA strengths as part of your SNMP credentials yet. Work is planned to add this to product in the near future.
Use of other SHA strength options and SNMPV3 is fully supported

Hi all
by when will this be supported ? When is this "near future" ?
Many thanks
Steffen
Hi @Steffen_Muessig,
I followed up with our R&D team and we're expecting to update NET-SNMP as part of an OpenSSL update in the next release (this will be for Collaborate and Infrastructure on the Microsoft Windows platform). Currently they're targeting NET-SNMP 5.9.3 and OpenSSL 3.0.7. The next release will include updates to other third party libraries. Unfortunately I don't have access to a comprehensive list, but the release notes should include details of the libraries that have been updated.
Regards,
Scott
Hi Scott
thanks for your answer.
Can you post a date for the new release ?
Thanks again
Steffen
Hi @Steffen_Muessig,
In general, our Product and R&D teams target a six monthly release cycle, so we normally expect a new release around March and September each year. Obviously there are a huge number of determining factors involved, so this can vary.
While I can't provide an exact date, my best estimate at this stage would probably be around mid to late April at the earliest.
Regards,
Scott
