Can Prognosis provides out of the box all the Cisco license usage

Since all the Cisco license information are available via PLM - Can Prognosis provides this solution as part of the core product to retrieve the licenses information

I know we created a custom solution to gather that information through web portal of the ELM server. Only drawback was that it used screenscraping and so becomes a little harder to maintain, if the interface or format of the web page changes. In any case, I'll reach out to Valarie and check if this can be put on the roadmap.

any update to this thread? we're on 11.4 and wondering if we can monitor our PLM and use it for the licensing info

Sorry, we have no plan to put the screen scarping solution for ELM and PLM into product. The reasons for that is partially because of screen scrap, but the more important one is because Cisco are moving to Smart Licensing with 12.0+. ELM and PLM will be obsoleted. With Smart Licensing. License information will only be accessible via Smart Account. I am not so sure if people will be happy enough to give access to Prognosis for their Smart Account and it is much more than just CUCM and CUC licensing and the like.

At the moment, the best solution that I can see to be reliable is via SysLog. Cisco themselves are giving out warning messages with grace period etc. If you set up Prognosis to be one of the receiver for that type of Syslog messages, then we can definitely raise the alert when that happens. This method works for various Cisco version including Cisco 12.0.
