Re: CDR/CMR files storage information

Hello Phani,

The Cisco CUCM CDR/CMR files are delivered to Prognosis via SFTP, and stored only briefly. The CDR/CMR files for a call are processed by Prognosis and converted into a row in the CallManagerCall (CMCALL) record.

The CallManagerCall record data is stored per CUCM cluster on the Monitoring Node in a Database Collection. The Database Collection follows this naming convention: 000xxClusterName-Calls where xx is an internal reference, and ClusterName is the name of the cluster in Prognosis. The individual call records are stored in this Database Collection for 2 days. Then the data is summarized to a Database Summary.

The summarized data is stored in a Database Summary called 000xxClusterName-Day where xx is an internal reference, and ClusterName is the name of the cluster in Prognosis. The Database Summary stores up to 250MB of data, which is usually sufficient for 60+ days of data.

The Web UI reports and interval selected in the report (i.e. "Last Hour", "This Month"...) will determine if the Database Collection or its summary is used for the data source in the Web UI Dashboard.

The Web UI built in reports can only go show data as far back as the intervals showing in the dropdowns, if the data is present in a Database Collection or Database Summary. Modifying the dropdown intervals would require customizations from the Professional Services Organization.

Using the Prognosis Windows Client with the Replay -> Quick View option of the CUCM cluster Database Summary will allow a user to view data as far back as it is stored in the collection in raw format. See the following Prognosis Online Help page for details about Quick View: Replaying a Database using Existing Displays: https://community.ir.com/t5/Online-Help/bg-p/Online-Help?Prognosis_11-4/mergedProjects/System_Functi...

Thank you,

Scott Baldwin

Re: CDR/CMR files storage information

Hello Phani,

Customizing reports in the Web UI &/or Prognosis Windows Client is a complex process because several items need to be updated for the report to work. The Database Collections also need to be set to store the data for the desired time. This type of customization is done by the Professional Services Organization. The Account Manager should be contacted about requests for this level of customization.

The export to Excel function in the Web UI and Prognosis Windows Client requires Excel is installed on the machine running the Web UI or Client. The error in the screen capture is the same seen if Excel is not installed on the machine.

An option is to use a Prognosis Windows Client only installation on a machine with Excel installed and direct network connectivity to the Prognosis server.  Use the Client to connect directly to the target Prognosis server in the login window. When the desired data is showing in a Display on the Client only machine, then the export to Excel function can be used to export the data to Excel.

Thank you,
