Avaya MOS values for voice quality ?

Hi all

 

could someone please explain which MOS value is for a good/fair/poor/unacceptable call in Avaya for Codec G.711 used.

 

higher 3.9 good ?

higher 3.6 fair ?

 

The same would be interesting for Latency /Jitter an packet Loss. When is a call degraded ?

Hello Steffen; This comes form the Configuration File RTCP_Monitor.CFG file - Here's the default values below - Anything less than 4.0 is Fair - 3.5 or less, poor, Etc. Hope this helps, they can be changed SUBSYS RTCP_MONITOR ! ! Call Quality of Service Configuration (RTCP) ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ! ! Call QoS is rated for: MOS, Latency, Jitter, Packet Loss ! Call QoS is rated as: Good, Fair, Poor & Unacceptable ! ! Align the QoS settings with your service levels objectives ! ! Rating Service Level ! ------ ------------- ! Good optimal ! Fair normal / expected ! Poor in danger of breaching ! Unacceptable in breach ! ! NOTE: QoS is rated as Unacceptable when the value ! is worse than the configured setting for Poor. ! ! For additional information, see the end of this document. ! ! If its for Avaya RTCP, then the RTCP_MONITOR static conf contains the entries:
