My customer has recently enabled RW via our SBC - does the SBC module allow any details to be extracted that would allow me to report on how many remote workers are active?
For an h323 One x client we have buit a dashboard that tracks usage by looking at all phone registrations with product ID 'OneX' as RW register now via ASBCE >> ASM , is there a way to track these registartions?
I guess looking at weblm may be a quick fix but wanted to see if we can do anything better using Prognosis?
Thanks for looking
Hello Jonathan,
The only ASBCE record in Prognosis that may provide Remote Worker registration information is ASBCESnmpIpCsStatsSipCalls (ASBCECAL). There are several registration fields, but none of them seem to point specifically to Remote Worker registrations.
If the ASBCECAL record doesn' t provide information about Remote Worker registrations, then the data is not available from the stock Prognosis installation.
If the information is available via another interface such as Weblm, then a Custom Solution can likely be created by the Consulting team to provide the information via Prognosis.
Thank you,
Scott Baldwin
Thanks scott for the prompt reply.
Just another quick one - are there any records that relate to user registartions as we see that count on the EMS?
Hello Jonathan,
The EMS side of the ASBCE may provide registration details, but Prognosis doesn't appear to gather them.
If the information is available in EMS, then a Custom Solution would be needed to gather the information and present it in Prognosis.
Thank you,
Scott Baldwin
Hi Scott - I did some more digging and looking at the MIB file for ASBCE/sipera there are 2 OIDs that I think may be what we are after:
ipcsLicenseAdvancedSessionReservedCount No action required. .1.3.6.1.4.1.6889.2.77.11.3 System INFORAMTIONAL read-only Number of Licenses reserved for Advanced Sessions.
ipcsLicenseAdvancedSessionInUseCount No action required. .1.3.6.1.4.1.6889.2.77.11.4 System INFORAMTIONAL read-only Number of Licenses currenty in use for Advanced Sessions.
RW's use Advanced licensing so could Prognosis poll these out of the box or would we still need the SBC Module to do this?
Hello Jonathan,
The Prognosis code for ASBCE doesn't include any gathering for either the ipcsLicenseAdvancedSessionReservedCount (.1.3.6.1.4.1.6889.2.77.11.3) or ipcsLicenseAdvancedSessionInUseCount (.1.3.6.1.4.1.6889.2.77.11.4) OIDs.
This means gathering the data for these OIDs is not available from Prognosis today. Code to query these OIDs would need to added to the Prognosis core code (request for Development to add to a future Prognosis release) or a Custom Solution would need to be used to gather the data and populate it into a Prognosis record for use in Displays, Thresholds...
Thank you,
Scott Baldwin
