Re: Avaya AES - Showing software version

Hello Jonathan,

Unfortunately, none of the Prognosis AES records show a field for the AES version.

Thank you,

Scott Baldwin

Hi Scott

I just looked in the MIB file and can see this- this may give us what we need?

- AES Server Data

avAesServerOs OBJECT-TYPE
    SYNTAX      DisplayString (SIZE(0..100))
    MAX-ACCESS  read-only
    STATUS      current
    DESCRIPTION
"OS Version used on the AE Server "
    ::= { avAesServer 1 }

avAesServerVersion OBJECT-TYPE
    SYNTAX      DisplayString (SIZE(0..100))
    MAX-ACCESS  read-only
    STATUS      current
    DESCRIPTION
"AES ISO Version used on the AE Server "

Re: Avaya AES - Showing software version

Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for pointing out the AES MIB sections showing AES and OS version details. I agree, these 2 OIDs look like they will provide the desired version information.

I rechecked the Prognosis AES Records to see if these fields are already present in Prognosis, but they are not present in in any Prognosis Records.

I see 2 possible directions forward:

  1. Open a Request For Enhancement (RFE) case with Support to request the 2 AES MIB fields are added to the Prognosis AES Collector, Prognosis Records and Displays/Dashboards.
  2. Although Prognosis has the ability to query and present SNMP query data, a Custom Solution would be needed to translate the MIB data to a custom Prognosis Record and associated Displays/Dashboards.

Thank you,

Scott Baldwin
