Alert on Failing Cisco UC Monitoring Credentials

I am working on creating alerts to verify ALL of our Cisco UC monitoring credentials are working properly and not failing.

Through trial and error, I have been able to alert on some of the credentials not working, but I am have come up emptry for a way to verify the following:

CCM/CUC/CCX
+ SNMP Connection (512)

UCCE
+ Diagnostic Framework Web Credentials Authentication (8443)

Expressway
+ SNMP Connection (512)

If anybody has found specific records to alert on for the above credentials on a PER SERVER basis, I would be very appreciative of your feedback.

Thank You.

Re: Alert on Failing Cisco UC Monitoring Credentials

I hope I got you right. You want to check the access data that you use in Prognosis to monitor the systems.
I think this can only be monitored indirectly by checking the last successful connection.

CCM/CUC

---------------

Record is "CallManagerApplianceSNMPCallManagerStatus"
Node to Monitor is the Cluster Node

The Record show CM Name, CM SNMP Status and last SNMP Update Time

I think it´s no problem to create a threshold condition and an altert for this.

CCX id did´n test it may it works the same way.

Expressway

---------------

Record is "CiscoExpresswaySummary"
Node to Monitor is the Monitoring Node that has configured the connection to Expressway (Prognosis Server)

The Record show Expressway name , Type, SNMP Contactable

You shold be able to create a threshold condition and an altert for this.

UCCE
-----------
I´m not 100% sure and I didn`t Test it. But i think what you are looking for is this.

Record is "UCCEDevice"
Node to Monitor is the "UCC Enterprise" Server.

The Record show an "Status" field i expect that this is what you are looking for.
For testing I would create an alarm and then maybe block the port in the FW to verify whether it fits.

You can also have a look at his Display (GUI) "UCCE All Instances Central" --> choose a UCCE Cluster
and the Window "Contactability" in the display "UCCE Instance Central" shows the record.

Re: Alert on Failing Cisco UC Monitoring Credentials

I was able to test out your suggestions and found the following:

"CallManagerApplianceSNMPCallManagerStatus"

> This works for CCM but NOT CUC or CCX

"CiscoExpresswaySummary"

> I failed to remember I was already using this for HTTP and SNMP connection status

> This works for both of the above on Expressways

"UCCEDevice"

> I am already using this record for SNMP connectivity

> All STATUS indicators I can find are related to SNMP and not Portico 8443 credentials

> I cannot even verify that the Portico credentials are being used for any monitoring

So ... 1 for 4.  Thanks for the feedback on the CCM SNMP.  Now off to support to address inconsistent data in the "CallManagerApplianceSNMPCallManagerStatus" record.  Some devices show as status 4 (down), but are configured the same as the rest of the cluster and respond to SNMP.  Single Prognosis SNMP cluster password for all servers and restarted SNMP Master and SNMP Local by saving the credetnails again and restarted Cisco SNMP Call Manager Service without resolution.

Thanks for your response.
